Why Partnering with Fair Shot is the Key to Inclusive Hiring That Works

Written By Valen Calanche, Head of Employment at Fair Shot

Inclusive Hiring is Hard—Without the Right Support

We all know diversity and inclusion are priorities for businesses today. But when it comes to hiring neurodiverse talent, good intentions alone won’t get you far. Too many companies struggle to build truly inclusive hiring programmes—not because they don’t care, but because they don’t have the right expertise and support to make it work.

That’s where we come in.

At Fair Shot, we specialise in training and supporting young adults with learning disabilities, helping businesses like yours create sustainable, successful hiring strategies. When companies partner with us, they don’t just meet diversity goals—they see higher retention rates, better workplace culture, and stronger teams.

Why Partnering with Experts Matters

Specialist Knowledge = Real Results

DEI initiatives are great, but inclusive hiring takes more than good intentions. It requires deep understanding, tailored training, and the right support system. That’s exactly what we bring to the table. By working with Fair Shot, businesses can:

  • Match the right talent to the right roles

  • Equip managers with effective training and ongoing support

  • Ensure long-term success with continuous collaboration

Without this kind of expert guidance, inclusive hiring programmes often fall short—talent isn’t retained, and workplaces struggle to integrate neurodiverse employees. But when businesses have the right support? That’s when real change happens.

The Numbers Speak for Themselves

After 3 years of placing neurodivergent young adults, with mostly learning disabilities, autism, or ADHD, among other conditions such as Down’s Syndrome, we can proudly share that in the first 2 years:

  • 90% of our ready-for-job graduates have successfully been placed in employment

  • 90% of our employer partners who have trained their entire teams and managers have created sustainable places for our graduates and they remain after the year in their business

  • 78% of our employer partners stated that they never considered before to hired a person with a learning disability and/or autism before partnering with us

  • 67% of our employer partners wouldn't feel confident hiring a person with a learning disability and/or autism without the support of Fair Shot.

Also, big companies know the impact of partnering with experts to create better results. Some examples are:

  1. Microsoft has developed its Autism Hiring Programme in collaboration with neurodiversity experts.

  2. JP Morgan Chase has implemented an Autism at Work initiative, which has grown from a four-person pilot to over 150 employees across 8 countries.

  3. EY (Ernst & Young) operates 23 Neurodiverse Centers of Excellence worldwide, focusing on high-level work in AI, blockchain, data analytics, and more.

  4. SAP has also reported high retention rates for their autism hiring programs, suggesting a partnership with inclusion experts.

While we don't have an exact count, it's clear that many large corporations are recognizing the importance of partnering with experts to implement inclusive hiring practices.
